Spokesperson for Kennedy Agyapong's campaign, Kwasi Kwarteng, has brushed off claims by Dr.

Mahamudu Bawumia's camp that over 200 former Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) are backing his bid to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into the 2028 general elections.

Speaking on JoyNews' The Pulse, Kwarteng said such claims are not a source of concern for their team, stating that the real decision lies with the over 200,000 polling station executives who make up the grassroots of the party. "It is good for them [the Bawumia camp], we wish them well if indeed they believe they have over 200 MMDCEs.

I'm sure the election day will vindicate that position," he said.
