Anhwiafutu Primary School, the only basic education facility serving the Anhwiafutu community in the Sefwi Akontombra District, has been described as a 'ticking time bomb' due to its dangerously dilapidated infrastructure.
The school, which serves over 300 pupils and teachers, is now teetering on the edge of collapse, with large cracks in its walls, a leaking roof, and a crumbling foundation making daily teaching and learning hazardous.
According to 3news.com report on June 23, 2025, classrooms get flooded when it rains, forcing pupils to crowd in corners to avoid being soaked or hit by falling debris.
Desks, books, and other teaching materials are often drenched, disrupting lessons and hampering academic performance.
