President John Dramani Mahama has appointed former Kumasi Mayor, Kojo Bonsu, veteran actress Kalsoume Sinare, former Member of Parliament for La-Dadekotopon Nii Amasah Namoale, and twelve others as ambassadors and high commissioners.

Also making the list are academics and former Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Vice Chancellor Professor Kwasi Obiri-Danso and the first female Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, Associate Professor Dora Francisca Edu-Buandoh.

The appointments are however subject to parliamentary approval.

According to a letter from the Office of the President dated June 10, 2025, and signed by Secretary to the President, Callistus Mahama, PhD, these nominations were made after consultations with the Council of State, in accordance with Article 74 of the 1992 Constitution.
