Former flagbearer aspirant of the (NPP), Francis Addai-Nimoh, has condemned the party's decision to hold its presidential primaries on January 31, 2026.
Speaking on UTV and monitored by GhanaWeb on Saturday, June 21, 2025, he expressed concern over the timing of the primaries, describing it as premature and potentially destabilising.
According to him, the party's constitution stipulates that when in opposition, a flagbearer should be elected no later than four months before the next general election. "This gives us the entire period from January to December to elect a flagbearer.
In 2024, we selected our flagbearer on October 18, in line with the constitution," he stated.
