Mynewsgh has learnt that 11 agencies under Ghana's Ministry of the Interior have collectively donated GH¢1 million to the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, popularly known as Mahama Cares.
The donation was made during a short ceremony held at the Jubilee House, where senior officers from the Ghana Police Service, Ghana National Fire Service, Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana Prisons Service, National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), and other interior-affiliated institutions were present.
The contribution is in support of President John Dramani Mahama's new flagship health initiative aimed at easing the financial burden of Ghanaians seeking emergency and life-saving medical care.
Mahama Cares is the public-facing name for the Ghana Medical Trust Fund - a social intervention policy initiated by the Mahama administration to provide critical medical support to citizens who cannot afford urgent healthcare.
