The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has directed dealers and owners of mining and construction equipment to notify the Authority of any change in ownership within 14 days after the sale.

In a statement issued by the DVLA on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, it noted that failure to adhere to the directive would lead to sanctions. "The Authority wishes to further inform dealers and owners that failure to comply with this requirement can result in legal implications with its attendant consequences. "In light of this and having taken steps to register these categories of equipment as part of its asset classification process for data entry, DVLA advises all dealers and owners of mining and construction equipment to ensure that transfer of ownership is effected immediately after sale," it noted.

It also urged dealers and owners to visit the nearest DVLA office to facilitate transfer of ownership.
