President John Dramani Mahama has extended a warm and symbolic offer to British boxing champion Anthony Joshua, saying he would be delighted to grant him a Ghanaian passport if he wished to become a citizen.

This offer came during a courtesy visit by the two-time world heavyweight champion to the Jubilee House on Monday, June 16, 2025, as part of his ongoing tour of Ghana.

The visit follows Joshua's arrival in the country on June 13, where he received a hero's welcome from enthusiastic fans and dignitaries alike. "We are happy to have you.

You're an icon," Mahama said. "If you want us to give you a Ghanaian passport, we will give you." Anthony Joshua, whose parents are of Nigerian descent expressed heartfelt appreciation for the country's warm embrace. "I'm really impressed with your beautiful country," Joshua said during his remarks. "Amazing culture, hospitality, the airport, organisation, and I can't wait to go back and tell the world how beautiful this place is." https://twitter.com/i/status/1934671535098220821 Share this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pinterest (Opens in new window) Related Topics:Feature Advertisement You may like Early primaries will give us strategic advantage - Haruna Mohammed Like a thief in the night: Schandorf applauds Buah's tactful anti-galamsey strategy Dr Adutwum calls on Mahama's gov't to end examination malpractice in Ghana Massive swoop shows minister means business - Schandorf praises Armah-Kofi Buah's galamsey fight NPP to hold National Delegates Conference on July 19 in Accra Manasseh Azure praises the role of Ekow Vincent and Kofi Agyepong in the fight against Zoomlion contract NPP's flagbearership election to be held on January 31, 2026 Galamsey must end, and he's the right man for the job - Schandorf on Lands Minister Send judges to China to learn Mandarin - Justice Mensah proposes bold move against galamsey Click to comment Leave a Reply Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
