Ghanaian music legend, Kwaw Kese, has thrown his support behind the recently introduced GH¢1 petroleum levy, popularly dubbed the "Dumsor Levy," by the NDC government. In a video shared on Instagram and spotted by Ameyaw Debrah Media on June 9, 2025, the outspoken artiste said the levy makes more sense compared to the controversial E-Levy implemented under the previous NPP administration.According to Kwaw Kese, the reduction in fuel prices from GH¢16 to GH¢12 per liter should be acknowledged as a relief, and the proposed levy should not be politicized. "The price of fuel has been reduced from GH¢16 to GH¢12 per liter.
Which means government has dashed Ghanaians GH¢4.
And if he is now saying that, give GH¢1 out of the GH¢4… If we are building a great nation, I think it makes sense," he explained.
