The three-day funeral and burial rites of the late Mamponghene, Daasebre Osei Bonsu II, known as "Dote Yie" in Akan tradition and customs, drew several prominent personalities from across the country.

They attended the ceremony to pay their last respects to the late chief and mourn with the bereaved family of the Mamponghene and the entire township.

Daasebre Osei Bonsu II, born on December 31, 1939, passed away at the age of 86 after serving as Mamponghene for 26 years, leaving behind a remarkable legacy for his people.

The three-day burial rites, which began on Saturday, June 7, 2025, during which the late chief was laid in state, are expected to conclude on Monday, June 9, 2025, when he will be finally be buried in accordance with custom.
