The High Court, Industrial and Labour Division in Accra, has granted an interlocutory injunction restraining the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) and its members from continuing their ongoing strike.
The order, issued on June 5, 2025, follows an ex-parte application filed by the National Labour Commission (NLC), which argued that the strike was illegal and disruptive to essential healthcare services across the country.
Presiding Justice Priscilla Dikro Ofori granted the injunction after considering the affidavit submitted by Martin Didemudo on behalf of the NLC and hearing legal arguments from the Commission's counsel, Alexander Owusu Jnr.
According to the court's directive, the GRNMA-along with its executives, officers, members, and any affiliates-must immediately cease the strike action.
