Renowned Ghanaian music producer and audio engineer, Benjamin Mensah Garzy, professionally known as Mix Master Garzy, has shed light on the deeper responsibilities of a music producer, pointing out that true production goes well beyond simply creating beats. Speaking in an exclusive interview with DJ Slim on Daybreak Hitz, Garzy highlighted the wide range of skills that a genuine music producer must possess."Before you call yourself a producer, you have to know how to produce - how to make beats, how to engineer audio, meaning proper recording as a recording engineer.
You need to know how to mix, how to direct, how to write, maybe even how to sing.
All of these are part of being a full producer," he explained.
He clarified that while some individuals may specialize in areas like beat making or mixing, the ability to manage the entire production process is what defines a complete producer.
