Private legal practitioner, Martin Kpebu has welcomed the government's decision to introduce new rules for the removal of Superior Court Justices, describing it as a clear admission that Article 146 of the Constitution is outdated and urgently requires reform.

Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga announced that the government is preparing to introduce a comprehensive framework to govern the removal of justices of Ghana's superior courts, including the Chief Justice.

Addressing Parliament on Tuesday, May 27-the House's first sitting after recess-Ayariga outlined the Mahama administration's legislative priorities.

He underscored the government's commitment to enhancing judicial independence while establishing fair and transparent mechanisms to ensure accountability within the judiciary.
