Member of Parliament for Bongo, Charles Bawaduah, has urged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to refrain from politicising the ongoing investigation involving its Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.

Chairman Wontumi is under investigation by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) over alleged financial dealings with EXIM Bank.

His legal team, led by fellow MP Andy Appiah-Kubi, is currently working to meet a GHS50 million bail condition, which includes the provision of two sureties.

While some NPP figures have suggested the investigation is politically motivated, Bawaduah dismissed those claims.
