Dennis Miracles Aboagye, an aide to former Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) Flagbearer for the 2024 election, Dr.
Mahamudu Bawumia, has called on the National Security and the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) to conduct thorough background checks on all presidential appointees, particularly those designated to serve on boards of public institutions.
According to him, such measures would help prevent embarrassing situations for the presidency.
His comments follow President John Dramani Mahama's decision on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, to revoke the appointment of Anne Sansa Daly from the Board of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), after concerns emerged regarding her lack of a valid license to practice medicine in Ghana.
