Traffic lights along the Awoshie-Pokuase highway remain non-functional despite years of protests, public appeals, and tragic road accidents.

The situation has further deteriorated as critical control boxes, essential for the operation of these lights, have either gone missing or been stolen.

The issue is not new as residents of Awoshie Mangoase in August 2020, took to the streets in grief and anger following the deaths of a four-year-old child and a young man, both knocked down on the same day.

Their deaths were attributed to the absence of functioning traffic signals.
