Former Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Ibrahim Sannie Daara, believes Charles Kwabla Akonnor's appointment as Gor Mahia head coach will present a golden opportunity for Ghanaian players.
Akonnor has joined the Kenyan powerhouse on a two-year deal ahead of the new football season.
The former Asante Kotoko head trainer will be assisted by Bismark Kobby Mensah, while Ben Owu will serve as the goalkeepers' trainer.
Speaking in an interview, Sannie Daara described Akonnor's appointment as a strategic gateway that could see more Ghanaian footballers targeted for transfers to the East African powerhouse. "They've seen that there are lots of opportunities for them to also make money via the Club World Cup, so they'll also be counting on CK to find them not only talents in Kenya but also talents outside Kenya, particularly in Ghana.
