The Eastern South Regional Police Command has arrested a suspect in connection with unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition during a targeted operation at Adoagyiri in the Eastern Region.
The suspect, identified as Abdul Rauf Salami, a resident of Adoagyiri Zongo, was apprehended on Friday, May 23, 2025, around 9:30 p.m.
The arrest was made during intensified police operations focused on securing all entry and exit points of Adoagyiri, following recent disturbances in the township.
According to a press release signed by ASP Foster Owusu of the Public Affairs Unit, the police retrieved two pump-action guns loaded with 64 rounds of AA ammunition, as well as a cutlass, a knife, and an ammunition vest from the suspect.
