Accra Lions Football Club has taken an important step forward by officially appointing Richard Afoakwa as their new head coach.
The club, known for its strong focus on nurturing young talent, believes Afoakwa is the perfect fit to carry their vision into the new season in the Division One League.
Afoakwa expressed his enthusiasm about joining the Lions, saying, "I'm excited to join a club that puts player development above all." With a CAF B coaching license and valuable experience from stints at West African Football Academy, Nsoatreman, and Inter Allies FC, he brings both expertise and fresh energy to the team.
Chairman Oliver Konig shared the club's excitement, describing Afoakwa as one of Ghana's finest coaching prospects."We are extremely excited to have Richard Afoakwa join our staff for the new season," he said. "We consider Richard to be one of the greatest coaching talents in Ghana, which fits well with our ambitions," he added.
