Member of Parliament for Old Tafo, Vincent Ekow Assafuah, has dismissed Defence Minister, Dr.
Omane Boamah's justification for Vice President, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang's use of a chartered flight, describing it as an "afterthought." His comments come after the MP shared a flight receipt on social media indicating that the Vice President had chartered a private jet from Farnborough, UK, to Accra on May 22, 2025.
He captioned the post, "Prof Jane Naana Agyeman's chartered flight!!!" In response, Defence Minister Omane Boamah defended the Vice President's travel arrangements, attributing the decision to the current unserviceable condition of the presidential jet. "Let the NPP, which suffered the most humiliating defeat in recent memory in both the Presidential and Parliamentary elections, know this: Akufo-Addo's administration ran down the presidential jet," Boamah stated.
However, speaking on Newsfeed on Channel One TV, Vincent Assafuah criticised the explanation, suggesting it only emerged after public scrutiny. "This seems to me as an afterthought until yesterday.
