President John Dramani Mahama has welcomed Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang back to her official duties, advising her to ease into her responsibilities gradually following her recent medical leave.
Speaking in Accra on Thursday, May 22, Mahama shared a positive health update from medical professionals who had assessed the Vice President's condition. "The doctors say you are 20 years younger.
That is what the professor told me-that you are okay and fit for the job." Despite this encouraging report, Mahama emphasised the importance of a cautious return. "We will ask that you take it easy for a little while, and after that, we will see how things go," he advised.
Vice President Opoku-Agyemang had been on medical leave since April 7, 2025, after experiencing health issues that led to her hospitalisation at the University of Ghana Medical Centre and subsequent treatment abroad.
