The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) in the Ashanti Region is set to roll out a 100-day maintenance exercise aimed at reducing power supply interruptions and mitigating the effects of rainstorms during the ongoing rainy season.
This move comes in response to growing public frustration over recurrent power outages, often triggered by even minimal rainfall.
The ECG's 100-day maintenance initiative was announced during a stakeholder meeting with members of the Ghana National Association of Garages in Ashanti West.
Scheduled to begin on Monday, May 26, the exercise will focus on inspecting, repairing, and strengthening key infrastructure to ensure stable electricity delivery throughout the rainy season. "We have instructed all our maintenance staff that they should be doing line inspections so that if there is any defect with any equipment that needs to be changed, we change it.
