The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition has refuted claims that the Minister, John Jinapor is using fear tactics in discussions about Ghana's energy sector.
Speaking on Channel One TV's The Big Issue on Saturday, May 17, Member of Parliament for Walewale, Tia Abdul-Kabiru Mahama criticised the minister's "scaremongering" urging him instead to inspire hope and offer clear, sustainable solutions.
However, the Ministry's PRO, Richmond Rockson, responded to comments made by Walewale MP, Tia Abdul-Kabiru Mahama, clarifying that the minister had simply presented an honest assessment of the country's energy challenges during a briefing with the Parliamentary Select Committee. "The Minister for Energy and Green Transition is not engaged in scaremongering," Rockson stated on Channel One TV's The Big Issue on Saturday May 17.
Providing further context, Rockson explained that Jinapor participated in a meeting where lawmakers inquired about Ghana's energy situation.
