Deputy Minister and Member of Parliament, Hamza Adam, has mounted a strong defense of the government's position on accountability, dismissing the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) recent calls for investigations as insincere and politically motivated.
Speaking during a media interaction, Hamza emphasized that the ruling administration remains firmly committed to both probity and accountability-values he said are at the heart of the government's principles. "We are not against any group or individual seeking to expand the frontiers of accountability.
That is what governance should be about," he stressed.
However, he expressed deep disappointment in the NPP, accusing the opposition of cherry-picking issues and failing to show national character in its pursuit of transparency. "If the NPP truly valued accountability, they would not have stayed silent on the unresolved scandals under their own leadership-from the Sky Train project to questionable IT contracts," he noted.
