Former Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong, has strongly criticised President John Dramani Mahama for what he describes as a weak response to the controversy involving the acting CEO of the Ghana Gold Board, Sammy Gyamfi.

Speaking at the Entrepreneurship and National Leadership programme at Central University on Thursday, May 15, 2025, Mr Agyapong said President Mahama should have acted swiftly to dismiss Gyamfi after a video emerged showing him handing over an undisclosed amount of US dollars to evangelist Nana Agradaa. "If I were the President, I would have sacked Sammy Gyamfi right away.

The evidence was clear.

There was no need for any investigation.
