The Eastern North Division of the has arrested two individuals for allegedly operating an illegal drug factory suspected to be producing Indian hemp in the Eastern Region.

The arrested individuals, identified as 40-year-old Hawa Ibrahim and 30-year-old Latif Adams, are reported to have been operating a drug factory and using one of their residences as a storage facility for the suspected Indian hemp.

The operation was located at Ampehkrom, a town at Nkawkaw.

According to a UTV report dated May 14, 2025, DCOP Eric Kojo Asante, Commander of the Eastern North Division of the , stated that 1,650 slabs of the suspected illicit drugs were discovered and confiscated during the operation.
