A corruption petition filed by private citizen, Eric Dumenu Akatsi against Acting Ghana Gold Board CEO Sammy Gyamfi has been officially withdrawn.

The withdrawal comes shortly after President John Dramani Mahama pardoned Gyamfi.

Akatsi, who submitted the petition to the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) on May 13, 2025, requested an investigation into Sammy Gyamfi's controversial dollar gift to evangelist Patricia Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa.

However, in a follow-up letter dated May 14, Akatsi formally rescinded the request. "I am writing to formally withdraw the petition I submitted on 13th May, 2025, with reference number 122/12/BL.12 regarding the instances of corruption against Sammy Gyamfi, CEO of the Ghana Gold Board.
