The Ghana Police Service has foiled an attempted robbery involving a gold consignment valued at GH¢1,350,343.53 through a coordinated, intelligence-led operation.

Three suspects - Adams Zibo, Massawud Yussif, and Kenneth Khartey - were arrested for allegedly conspiring to rob Mr Rashid, a consultant with a legally registered mining firm in Ghana.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Lydia Yaako Donkor, Director-General of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), disclosed at a news briefing that the suspects included the gold dealer's driver and a man who posed as the dealer's bodyguard.

The group had planned to carry out the robbery during a scheduled gold delivery by the company on June 26, 2025.
