The Ghana Railway Development Authority (GRDA) has clarified that it is not part of the ongoing industrial action and assures the public that it remains fully operational despite the strike by some workers of the Ghana Railway Corporation Limited (GRCL).

In a statement, the GRDA emphasised that the strike does not impact its regulatory and oversight functions.

While both agencies operate within the railway sector, they are distinct entities with different legal responsibilities.

Dr Frederick Appoh, the Acting Chief Executive Officer, noted in the statement that the GRDA's operations are unaffected by the strike. "We wish to assure the public that the GRDA remains fully operational and has not initiated or endorsed any form of public demonstration on any issue. "We are, indeed, focused on final preparations for the operationalisation of the newly constructed 97-kilometre Tema-Mpakadan Railway Line, supported by two new trains the government has procured," part of the statement read.
