Mr Ransford Owusu Boakye has been unan­imously confirmed as the Municipal Chief Exec­utive (MCE) for New Juaben South in the Eastern Region.In a vote held on Friday, all 48 assembly members, com­prising 33 elected members and 15 government appointees, en­dorsed the President's nominee with a 100 per cent ''yes'' vote.The confirmation vote was conducted by the Municipal Electoral Officer, Gifty Nyame­kye Manteaw, at the New Jua­ben South Municipal Assembly Hall.In his acceptance speech, Mr Boakye expressed profound gratitude to the assembly mem­bers, party executives, tradition­al leaders, and the clergy for their support.He pledged to lead with humility, embrace inclusive governance, and maintain an open-door policy aimed at accelerating development across the municipality."My ultimate goal is to help President John Dramani Maha­ma effectively realise his vision and policies for our area," Mr Boakye stated.He also called on both local and foreign investors to consid­er New Juaben South as a prime destination for investment, em­phasising that his tenure would create opportunities, especially for the youth.Mr Boakye thanked Pres­ident Mahama, the Eastern Regional Minister, Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, the NDC Eastern Regional Chairman, Dr Mark Oliver Kevor, and the Mem­ber of Parliament for the area, Michael Okyere Baafi, for their support.Speaking at the ceremony, the Eastern Regional Minister, Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey com­mended the assembly members for their unified support of the nominee.She described the 100 per cent endorsement as a clear sign of confidence in Mr Boakye's leadership.She expressed optimism that with cooperation and team­work, the municipality would witness greater development.Mrs Awatey also tasked the new MCE with prioritising san­itation and urged the assembly to support his initiatives for the collective progress of New Juaben South. BY AMA TEKYIWAA AMPA­DU AGYEMAN, KOFORID­UA
