The President of the Ghana Journalists Association, Albert Dwumfuor, has called on the Inspector General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, to take immediate action on reported attacks against journalists.
Speaking during the commemoration of World Press Freedom Day on May 3, 2025, the GJA President urged the IGP to ensure justice for cases of attacks on journalists including the unsolved murder of Ahmed Suale in 2019. "We have not been silent on the attacks against our members which is why we continue to demand justice for our murdered colleague, Ahmed Suale.
We reiterate our call to the IGP, the time to act is now," he stated.
The event, organized under the Newsroom Business Initiative by Afrimas Network in collaboration with Bluecrest College, celebrated World Press Freedom Day 2025.
