Austrian-Ghanaian defender Kevin Danso believes Tottenham Hotspurs will learn from the UEFA Super Cup defeat to Paris Saint Germain. The Europa League winners threw away a two-goal lead to lose on penalties to the European champions following a late collapse at Stadio Friuli in Italy.
Micky van de Ven and new captain Cristian Romero had give Spurs the lead before late goals from second half substitutes Lee Kang-in and Goncalo Ramos forced the match to penalties.
Van de Ven and Mathys Tel missed from the spot with Nuno Mendes netting the winning penalty as the French giants added the fifth title of the campaign. "I feel like we were strong on set pieces, caused them loads of problems in and around the box, limited them to few chances and when you play a team with loads of quality players, it will be tough," said Danso after the match. "We did our best, played well, a lot of positives to take and it's now a quick turn around we hope to start in the Premier League as we intend to go on (against Burnley in our opener on Saturday), and finish high up the table," he added.
Danso, who sealed a permanent move in the transfer window following a successful loan spell, has switched his attention to the season opener against Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday.
