The High Court in Accra has sentenced Deborah Seyram Adablah, a former National Service personnel, to 45 days in prison for contempt of court following her public comments against the judiciary during her legal dispute with a former bank executive.

Adablah was convicted for publishing videos on social media in which she accused a presiding judge of bias, actions the court said undermined its integrity.

The contempt ruling comes in the wake of her sensational 2023 lawsuit against Ernest Kwesi Nimako, a former Chief Finance Officer of a bank, whom she described as her "sugar daddy." The lawsuit, which made headlines nationwide, saw Adablah accusing Nimako of breach of promise, sexual harassment, and failure to fulfill a series of financial and personal commitments she claimed he made during their relationship.

Her demands included a car, monthly allowance, three years' rent, funding for medical expenses, and a lump sum as working capital.
