The Ghana Police Service is working closely with Nigerian authorities to repatriate two female victims and suspects involved in a high-profile kidnapping case that recently captured national attention.

The victims, whose distress was captured in a viral video that sparked widespread outrage, were rescued through a coordinated effort involving the Ghana Police, the National Signals Bureau (NSB), and the Nigeria Police Force.

Speaking at a press briefing in Accra on Tuesday, May 7, the Director General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), DCOP Lydia Yaako Donkor, confirmed that both the victims and eight suspects are currently in Nigeria.

She said steps are being taken to transport the victims safely back to Ghana and to extradite the suspects to assist with investigations. "As of today, both suspects and victims are with the Nigerian authorities, and efforts are being made to transport the victims to Ghana and also extradite the suspects to Ghana to assist investigations," DCOP Donkor said.
