Ibrahim Adjei, former Assistant Secretary at the Office of former President, Nana Akufo-Addo has hailed the government's decision to terminate the contracts of all caterers under the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP).
Speaking on Channel One TV's Breakfast Daily on Monday, May 5, he revealed that the move is necessary to address the numerous challenges and mismanagement that have plagued the programme, especially from some school authorities.
According to him, some headteachers and school management were engaged in practices that undermined the effectiveness of the feeding initiative, resulting in poor and insufficient food provision for schoolchildren, and that needed swift action. "What the minister is now doing is making sure that those individual headmasters and mistress and also the management are brought to book.
Sometimes it is not just one person, it is a cabal in the school.
