The Gbese Mantse, Nii (Dr) Ayi-Bonte II, and his entire Elders on Saturday, April 26, unveiled a plaque to honour the memory of the late Asafoiatse Christopher Brandford Nettey.
A principal street from the old Bank of Ghana structure through the General Post Office running in front of his residence to Palladium had been named after him in recognition of his formidable exploits within the Ga State.
Asafoiatse Christopher Brandford Nettey was a prominent scholar, a politician, an entrepreneur and a sports enthusiast who founded Accra Hearts of Oak Football Club in 1911.
Dr Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe, a Board Member of Hearts of Oak, led the entire playing body, technical staff and some officials of the club, notably Vincent Odotei Sowah, Alhaji Akambi and Mr Harry Zakkour, a former Chief Executive of the club to support the event.
