The Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has expressed worry about, what he describes as the poor quality of food being served to students in Senior High Schools (SHS).

The minister said the government may be forced to reverse its decision to allow school heads to purchase food for students-a key campaign promise under the NDC manifesto.

The NDC in its manifesto promised to allow school heads and bursars to purchase their own food items for students under a new arrangement.

During the inauguration of the new governing Board of the Ghana Education Service, the education minister noted that students are still been served with poor-quality food. "In the NDC manifesto, we pledged that we will allow headmasters, bursars, and institutions to do food supply.
