The Acting Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Godwin Edudzi Tameklo, has passionately defended the newly launched Mahama Cares programme and called on Ghanaians across all political divides to rally support behind the initiative aimed at supporting individuals living with chronic illnesses. "All of us here, we should, in unison, help increase the funding source into that particular programme.
Disease doesn't know politics," Tameklo stated during a panel discussion on The Keypoints on TV3.
He emphasised the credibility and expertise of the committee steering the initiative, dismissing attempts to politicise its work. "This is not a committee of political novices," he noted.
He added that, "the 'exceptional credentials' of the committee members, many of whom are distinguished former Supreme Court judges, lawyers, and public servants.
