The government has made notable strides in managing food and nutrition security despite ongoing climatic challenges, according to the 2025 March Cadre Harmonisé (CH) report released by the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA).

The report, developed in collaboration with the World Food Programme (WFP) and the Permanent Interstate Committee for Drought Control in the Sahel (CILSS), highlights that approximately 2.4 million Ghanaians - representing 7.4% of the population - are currently vulnerable to food insecurity.

However, this figure is expected to decline slightly to around 2 million (6.3%) between June and August 2025.

Despite the setbacks of a dry spell across eight regions in 2024, Ghana has outperformed its West African peers in terms of food security, faring better than countries like Côte d'Ivoire and Benin.
