The Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, , has stated that there will be an issuance of Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT) licenses on June 30, 2025.

He noted that he expects Parliament to approve the Timber Utilization Contracts (TUCs) when they resume sittings to facilitate the process in their bid to protect forests.

The issuance, if done, will make Ghana the first country in Africa and the second in the world to achieve the FLEGT license in enhancing Forest Law Enforcement.

During a courtesy call by the European Union Ambassador to Ghana, Irchad Razaaly, on April 25, 2025, Armah-Kofi Buah assured that he is working assiduously to get the license issued on time. "All is set for the issuance of Ghana's first FLEGT License.
