President has appointed Dr Abubakar Bawah Abdulai as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH).
Dr Abdulai is a senior official at the University for Development Studies (UDS).
His appointment follows the dismissal of the former CEO of the Tamale Teaching Hospital, Dr Adam Atiku, after allegations of negligence that reportedly led to the recent death of a patient at the hospital's Accident and Emergency Ward.
Dr Atiku's the dismissal was carried out by the Minister of Health, , following a visit to the hospital on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, to assess the situation firsthand. "I have formally sacked the CEO of the Tamale Teaching Hospital with immediate effect," Joy News quoted as saying.
