A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Odebehi Kwaku Appiah known popularly as Chairman Coka, has urged the president of Ghana to apologise to the people for politicizing the fight against illegal mining while in opposition.
After the apology, he is of the view that the president can form a bipartisan committee to find a lasting solution to the menace.
He is of the opinion that it's been over 100 days since the new government took over, and illegal mining has got worse since the takeover, an indication that they are losing the fight.
Chairman Coka used the opportunity to call on associations, CSOs among others to add their voices to help in the fight against the menace.
