National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress(NDC) has shared an interest story of how he dealt with fake news about him owning a fuel station in Sunyani in the Bono Region.

According to experienced politician, soon after President Kufour exited office, rumours went viral that he owned a chain of fuel stations across the country and about 200 fuel tankers, an allegation that came to him as a surprise.

He said the now opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) made a lot of noise about that allegation so well that many Ghanaians including some NDC party members believed in that lie.

Asiedu Nketia in an interview with Class FM, narrated that he became aware of the rumour only after a party member who was working at a fuel station got sacked by his employer and a call was made to him [Asiedu Nketia] to employ the dismissed employee in his supposed fuel station. ....So that senior person called saying, General, this is a problem we have to solve.
