Haruna Mohammed, Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed deep concerns over the potential for a resurgence in drug trafficking in Ghana, drawing alarming comparisons to the biggest drug scandal recorded in 2014.

In an interview on Channel One Newsroom on Wednesday, April 9, Mohammed warned that under the leadership of the same president, drug-related issues may again threaten the nation's image and security. "We just want to have a free country that is free from drug-related issues," Mohammed stated, highlighting the importance of maintaining national integrity and security.

Reflecting on the significant drug cases recorded in 2014, he reminded Ghanaians that the same president was in office at the time. "We all know that the biggest drug issue that we had in this country was 2014.

The same president was the president at that time," he said, drawing a direct link between the past and present leadership.
