According to a report by Asaase Radio, the Editor of the Current Issue newspaper, Prosper Agbenyagah, has been invited by the National Security to explain how he came into possession of and published a leaked document allegedly tied to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
The report indicates that the invitation was extended by the Director of Operations at National Security, Richard Jakpa.
This development has stirred fresh debate around press freedom and the boundaries of investigative journalism in the country.
Sources close to the matter revealed that Agbenyagah is expected to clarify how he accessed what authorities consider a confidential document, reportedly connected to an ongoing controversy involving ECG container procurement.
