Former Member of Parliament for Gomoa West, Alex Abban, has called for a thorough investigation into the mysterious disappearance of containers reportedly holding critical electricity infrastructure, expressing strong suspicion of high-level collusion.
Speaking on The Forum on Asaase Radio, Abban didn't mince words as he questioned how such large items could simply vanish without a trace. "This is not like milk containers where you can pack a thousand pieces into one small box and make away with it," he said. "What we have heard is that these containers, for some reason, have gone missing.
I believe strongly that there must be some kind of unholy conversation between GRA officials, some politicians, and people at the top." Abban described the situation as not only disturbing but disgraceful, insisting that the stakes are far too high for the matter to be swept under the rug. "It is the livelihoods of our people we are talking about," he stressed, pointing to the far-reaching impact of such infrastructure losses on everyday Ghanaians.
His remarks come amid growing public concern over reports that containers allegedly imported by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to improve power delivery have inexplicably disappeared, with no clear accountability from authorities so far.
