A lawyer of Ghana's former president, Kow Essuman, has called on the government to investigate allegations of drug trafficking.

He is of the view that such allegations do not give Ghana the best image internationally, so it will be imperative that they take the allegations seriously rather than trivialize them.

In a tweet, he outlined how the former president worked to ensure that Ghana's international image was cleaned and urged the current government to ensure that it remains the same.

His tweet read "When an Opposition MP raises allegations of money laundering and demands an investigation, the Government Communications Minister should refrain from resorting to name-calling, such as referring to the MP as a "clown." These are serious claims that warrant a transparent investigation, and it is important that the appropriate individuals address them.
