Majority Chief Whip and Member of Parliament for South Dayi, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, has expressed hope that the parliamentary recess will provide Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin with an opportunity to reflect on his leadership style and make necessary adjustments.
Speaking on the Channel One Newsroom on Thursday April 3, Dafeamekpor highlighted concerns about Afenyo-Markin's approach to handling parliamentary matters and interactions with colleagues. "We believe that this recess will offer him the opportunity to review his performance between January and the end of March and see whether there will be opportunities for him to mend the way he handles matters on the floor and also amend the way he conducts affairs among his people and between his people and us," Dafeamekpor stated.
Reflecting on Afenyo-Markin's tenure as both Majority Leader and now Minority Leader, Dafeamekpor noted recurring issues with his leadership style. "We all are because you see he is not the first minority leader we've had in this country and he has been a majority leader before.
We had cause to complain about his style as a majority leader and now four months down the line he's found himself on the other side of the aisle," he remarked.
