MTN Ghana's CEO, Stephen Blewett, has opened up about a personal encounter with mobile money fraud, shedding light on the increasing threat of scams in the country.

Reflecting on his first anniversary at MTN, Blewett recounted the experience in which a fraudster attempted to manipulate him into believing he had made an unauthorized transfer. "In my first month here, I received a call from a fraudster.

He claimed I had made a transfer and tried to manipulate me into believing it," Blewett shared.

Determined to avoid falling victim to the scam and hoping to prevent the fraudster from targeting someone else, he decided to keep the caller on the line for about 15 minutes.
