The Speaker of Ghana's Parliament has agreed to the National Intelligence Bureau's (NIB) request to release two Members of Parliament (MPs), Mustapha Yussif and Kwame Asare Obeng (A Plus), for investigations.
In a letter signed by the Clerk to Parliament, Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror, and addressed to the Director General of the NIB, the Speaker acknowledged the constitutional limitations and security protocols but agreed to facilitate the process. "Parliament, in principle, agrees to the request in the above matter," the letter stated.
The MPs have been directed to appear before NIB officials for a preliminary interaction on Monday, April 7, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Sir Emmanuel Charles Quist Conference Room in Parliament.
