Renowned investigative journalist, Manasseh Azure Awuni, has criticized the Enchi District Court's decision to grant bail to four illegal miners arrested by the Forestry Commission, calling for the Attorney General to appeal the ruling.
In a Facebook post, Manasseh expressed his frustration over the judgment, stating, "The Attorney General must step in and appeal the case.
Some judges are part of the problem of this country." His remarks come after the Enchi District Court not only granted bail to the arrested illegal miners but also ordered the Forestry Commission to allow them to evacuate their confiscated mining equipment-including two excavators-from the Boin Forest Reserve to a location of their choice.
The decision has sparked widespread outrage, particularly among environmental advocates and anti-galamsey campaigners.
